On April 29, 2005, WACO signed Contract No. 08/HD-XD with HAU GIANG WATER SUPPLY & DRAINAGE - URBAN FACILITIES COMPANY to build the Phase 1 Nga Bay Phung Hiep Water Treatment Plant of 5,000m3/day for totally VND16,112,441,000. Main construction items included a raw water intake pumping station of 20,000 m3/day, a raw water ductile cast iron pipeline, a mixing tank, a flow splitting tank, an accelerator tank, a rapid filter, a treated water pumping station of 20,000 m3/day, a chlorination system, lime and alum metering systems, a sludge basin as well as buildings, landscape, mechanical and electrical engineering, technical training, etc. The project was started in July 2005 and completed after 10 months of implementation.
